What type of healthcare benefits does Abel offer?
Medical Insurance – Abel offers various medical insurance plans to full-time, eligible employees. At Abel, we believe that employees and their families should have personal choice when selecting their healthcare providers. We maintain relationships with several carriers so employee chances of utilizing their family’s existing physicians are far greater than they would be if we had only one health insurance carrier. Abel’s medical insurance programs are obtained from well-established insurance carriers, providing safe and secure coverage for employees and their families. Through our in house agents, Abel assumes the responsibility to obtain the policies, interact with insurance companies, resolve disputed claims and handle many of the other difficult issues surrounding group health insurance.
Dental – Realizing that all dentists and all dental care needs cannot be covered under one plan design, Abel offers several optional programs for dental care. As many as three different dental care plans are offered and just about everyone in the country can participate in at least one plan. These plan designs vary from a more traditional approach with a small deductible and coinsurance to a smaller HMO plan that covers much more than the typical plan.
Vision – At a time when vision care is being watered down to a small benefit offered in conjunction with medical plans, a separate vision care plan is becoming a necessity. Our plan has been providing vision care services since 1955 and is the nation’s largest provider of vision services, offering nationwide access, an extensive network, hassle-free claims, coverage for glasses and contact lenses.
Prescription Drug – Abel's prescription drug benefit provider’s participating pharmacy network is nationwide in scope and includes both independent pharmacies and chain stores. Over 95% of all pharmacies will accept our current prescription card. They offer seven day a week toll-free customer service access. Service representatives, who are familiar with individual plan designs, will talk directly with employees. They will help with program questions, proper drug use and unusual situations that may arise. There is a pharmacist on call 24 hours a day and they can also direct employees to the nearest participating pharmacy location anywhere in the US.
Life – Our Basic Life policy provides Group Term Life with Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage and is mandatory for all participants in any Abel medical plan or can be elected as a stand-alone policy.
